The Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement donated $10,000 to the Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation’s Mobile Ag Lab.

Westminster, MD – The Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement donated $10,000 to the Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation’s (MAEF) Mobile Ag Lab to support the organization’s mission to promote the understanding and appreciation of agriculture in our daily lives.

“We are thrilled to be able to support such an important organization for the future of agriculture,” says Dale Hershey, Chairman of the Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement. “MAEF educates elementary school students across Maryland about the food, fuel and fiber our farmers produce. The Foundation hopes our donation will allow the organization to continue teaching these skills.”

“MAEF appreciates the Foundation’s support of the Mobile Ag Lab program,” says George Mayo, Executive Director of Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation. “Maryland students love the hands-on experiments that teach them about their state’s number one industry. This donation will support week-long lab visits to schools in underserved regions in Maryland.”

Staying true to its mission, the Foundation has donated more than $42,000 in 2018 to agriculture education programs in MidAtlantic Farm Credit’s footprint. In addition to these donations, the Foundation also gives away ten $10,000 scholarships to students studying agriculture each year.

The non-profit Foundation was established in 2015 and is funded by participating association MidAtlantic Farm Credit. For more information about the Foundation and its scholarship programs, please visit www.fcfoundationforag.org.
